SHREVEPORT, LA - Dola Jene Greathouse died on February 25, 2005 after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Greathouse was born on October 6, 1930 in Winthrop, Arkansas and was a resident of Shreveport for the past forty years. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside. Services will held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 28, 2005 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Chapel. Officiating at the services will be Reverend James Eames, retired pastor and past chaplain of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Pallbearers include Randy Parrish, Richard Theus, Charles Chaler, Frank Thaxton, Clem Caffey, and James McCann. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Park West Cemetery.

Mrs. Greathouse was preceded in death by her mother, Addie and her husband, Jay Scott; father, Thel Wright, and her sister, Margaret Bonnette.

A loving mother and wife, Mrs. Greathouse will be sorely missed by her family: her husband, Hubert Greathouse; her three sons and their families: Mike and Debbie Thompson, Joe and Kay Thompson, and their children, Sheena and Tyler and Tommy and Julie Thompson, and their daughter Laura, of The Woodlands, Texas. She is also survived by a special brother-in-law, Gilbert Bonnette and nephew Donald and wife Sherry Bonnette and their children Cyndi and Donald, III.

Mrs. Greathouse was devoted to veteran's causes and was an active member in the Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Michael Moore, the staffs of the Willis Knighton Cancer Center and Christus Schumpert Grace Home.
