PRINCETON— Lelia Croy Shrewsbury, 86, of Ritchie Street, Princeton, died early Sunday morning, Aug. 27, 2006 at her residence.
Born April 16, 1920, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Errett Croy and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ann Green Croy. Lelia lived her entire life in Mercer County and was the last living member of her family.
Lelia worked 40 years at the Princeton G.C. Murphy Company on Mercer Street. She was the Assistant Manager and Office Manager. She was a member of Kee Street United Methodist Church in Princeton and attended Cooks Chapel at Pinoak.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vessie H. Shrewsbury; a brother, John Homer Croy and one sister, Ella Evelyn Croy Arrington Quick.
Survivors include her loving and devoted daughter, Judy Gail Shrewsbury; one special niece, Nancy Katherine Hammond; one special nephew, William Robert Arrington and several nieces and nephews; and a sister in law, Helen Croy.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastors Larry Dyer and Paul Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton.
