He was born in Ash(e) County, North Carolina, the son of Lonnie Booker and Mollie Clark Hoover Blevins. He was employed by the Western Maryland Railway for 28 years and he repaired lawn mowers and garden tillers at home. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carrie M. Blevins; his mother, Mrs. Blevins; four sons, William K., Wayne S., Archie D., and Lee S. with the US Army in Vietnam; two daughters, Mrs. Rita Holden and Mrs. Clara McCarney; seven grandchildren, a brother Dale Blevins; and four sisters, Mrs. Eve Blevins, Mrs. Elmo Storey, Mrs. Chessie Bailey, Mrs. Lois Papas, Mrs. Betty Payne. Services were held at the Rest Haven Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gerald W. Teeter officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. (Daily Mail, Hagerstown)
