Ernest White

Ernest Dean White, son of John H. and Sarah Elizabeth Murrell White was born in Schuyler County, Missouri, September 12, 1892 and passed away Friday, February 11, 1972 at 7:35 a.m. at the Laughlin Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri after an extended illness.

On April 26, 1919, he was united in marriage to Elva Edith White. To this union were born five children: two sons and three daughters. He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife Elva, the two sons, Richard Dane of Moulton, Iowa; John Dean of Bettendorf, Iowa; the three daughters, Mrs. Betty Maxine Anderson, Davenport, Iowa; Mrs. Mary Louise Deere, Bettendorf, Iowa; Mrs. Ruth Marie Sprague of Buffalo, Iowa. Also, one daughter-in-law, three sons-in-law, twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. White was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brothers; Oakley, Evan, Walter, Harl and a sister, Blanche Martin, several nieces and nephews.

Ern confessed his Lord as Savior, was baptized placing his membership with the Washington Christian Church to which he was faithful in attendance until his health failed. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge (Lodge of Love) No. 259 (A.F. and A.M.)

All of his life was spent as a farmer in the Liberty district of Schuyler County, Missouri. He loved the peace and quiet of the rural life. He was a neighbor and friend to all who knew him and needed him. His family held a special place in his heart.

Funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church in Lancaster, Missouri, Sunday afternoon February 13, 1972 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Quentin Johnson assisted by Bob Schofield, minister of the church.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Pauline Whitlow, soloist with Mrs. Maxine Elschlager as organist. Selections were "Ivory Palaces" and "How Great Thou Art."

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were members of the Lodge of Love No. 259 A.F. and A.M.

Interment was in the Arni Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Norman's Funeral.
