Amandus H. Hill, well known retired farmer, died at 1:45 o'clock Friday morning at the family home, 1421 West Wood street, following a long illness. He suffered from diabetes and complications. He would have been seventy-seven years old this month. Mr. Hill was born in Wood county. O., Nov. 30, 1851. He came to Macon county in 1871 and settled on a farm near Mt. Zion. He and Miss Laura Bartlett were married Sept. 6, 1875. In 1899 he retired from active farming and moved to Decatur, where he had made his home ever since. He was widely known in the county and had a great many friends. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ, Chevalier Bayard lodge No. 189, Knights of Pythias, Mt. Zion lodge of Odd Fellows, and Easterly camp, 1626, Modern Woodmen of America. He is survived by his wife and three sons, L. A. Hill and Guy U. Hill of Decatur and Wilbur A. Hill of Oreana. There are seven grand-children and five great grand-children. He also leaves, two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Libby Henning of Bowling Green, O., Mrs. Sina Edwards of Custar, O., and L. D. Hill of Bowling Green, O. The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Central Church of Christ. The burial will be in the Macon cemetery.
