Robert Lee Barnes passed away Monday, July 31, 2006 from complications of bone cancer, lung cancer, diabetes and coronary heart disease.

He was born on June 30, 1929 in Winnfield, Louisiana.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a Colonel in the C.A.F. for several years.

He was a dedicated, active member of Alcoholics Anonymous since October 22, 1963, and touched many lives. He will be missed!

Survivors include his wife Chris Barnes of Abilene; a son, Terry and wife, Ingrid of Abilene; a daughter, Robin Barnes of Chico, California; granddaughters, Christy Ann Davis and husband, Stephen of Abilene and Jennifer Barnes of Abilene; great grandsons Joshua Alan, Jerod Elijah and Jeremiah Jaxon Davis, all of Abilene; three sisters, Billie Pierce and husband, Walt of Houston, Nell Maxwell and husband, Wayne of San Angelo and Judy Northcutt and husband, Robert of Brownwood; a brother, Frank Barnes and wife, Jeri of Del Rio; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
