Mr. Leist, a retired farmer, had resided in Manitowoc since August, 1934.
He was born Dec. 14, 1860, in the town of Kossuth. On June 17, 1885 he married Miss Katherine Reif. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1935. Mrs. Leist survives with two sons, Jerome J. and Richard A., both of this city; one brother, Charles of Appleton; one sister, Mrs. Arthur J. Schmidt of this city; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Leist was a member of the Holy Name society which will recite the rosary tonight at 7 o’clock at the Pfeffer Funeral Home where the body is lying in state. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 8:30 o’clock from the funeral home and at 9 o’clock at St. Boniface church with burial in Calvary cemetery. The Rev. Anthony Baier will officiate.
