Anthony served the United States of America as a soldier in World War I. He was inducted into the National Army on June 7,1918 at Chicago, Illinois. He served in Company A, 109th Infantry and 44 Co 161 Depot Brigade stationed at Camp Grant, Illinois. He was honorably discharged on June 8,1919. He received the World War I Victory Medal with battle clasp for defensive sector and the World War I Victory Button (bronze). He proudly became a United States citizen on June 19,1918.

After his military service he was a farmer for over 35 years in Flandreau, South Dakota, as he was in his native country, Lithuania. May he rest in peace.
