Mrs. Cecelia Burke Kaylor, relict of James J. Kaylor, died at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. William O'Neill in Cresson Monday evening. Her death was caused by heart failure and followed an illness of about ten days from minor complications of disease incident to her age. Mrs. Kaylor was born March 17, 1829, on the old Burke Homestead, five miles from Wilmore. She was the youngest daughter of John and Esther Burke, among the earliest settlers of that section. In
1854 Mrs. Kaylor was married in the old Catholic Church at Wilmore by the Rev. Father Tobias Mullen. Her husband died at this homestead on July 27, 1894.
Mrs. Kaylor is survived by one brother, John Burke of Cincinnati, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Manse, who resides with her daughter at Dunlo. Also by the
following children: Rose C., a professional nurse of Pittsburg; Ida, a member of the Order of Mercy at McKeesport; Raymond J., and Harold G., editor and associate editor of the Johnstown JOURNAL; Irene M., wife of William O'Neil (sic) of Cresson and Louis
E., editor of the Cambria TRIBUNE at Ebensburg. All of these were with her when she died.
The funeral took place Thursday morning at 10 o'clock with solemn high mass of requiem in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Loretto, and interment followed in the church
cemetery.
