Janet was born July 5, 1934 in Sheboygan to the late John and Anna (Haindl) Knaus. Jan was united in marriage to Reuben Hanson of Kohler at Holy Name Catholic Church in Sheboygan on June 21, 1957. Survivors include her husband, Reuben; children, Jill (Jeff) Madden of Manitowoc, Jamie (Lisa) Hanson of Sudbury, MA, Heidi (Mike) Reinbold of Sheboygan, John (Pam) Hanson of Ashwaubenon; grandchildren, Katie and Kelly Kotarek, Matthew, Anna, Katherine and Andrew Hanson, Greg, Doug and Laura Reinbold, and Jake and Cole Hanson.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Knaus, and her sister and brother-in-law Nancy (Donald) Starich.
A Mass of Christian burial January 12, 2010 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish (Waldo site), Waldo Blvd. and N. 14th St., Manitowoc, WI, with the Rev. Daniel Schuster officiating. Janet will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Sheboygan on Tuesday.
