John V. "Jack" Minich, 77, died in Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Redbank Township, he was the son of the late James C. and Ellen (Bowersox) Minich.

Mr. Minich served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1952 with the U. S. Army. He was wounded twice in combat.

On June 21, 1964, he married Beverly A. Freedline. She survives.

He was of the Protestant faith, was an avid outdoorsman and a member and officer of the Clarion Gun Owners . He also was a member of the Disabled Veterans, VFW Post No. 415 and the American Legion Post No. 354 of New Bethlehem.

He was a lifelong Republican and served as committeeman of the Clarion County Republican Party.

Other survivors include two sons, Thomas and his wife Heidi and James and his wife Sherri, both of New Bethlehem;one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Jackie) Quinn of Mayport; seven grandchldren, Micki, Michael J., Caitlin, Tevon, Jonna, Hunter, and Shaileen Minich; two sisters, Mrs. William (Bonnie) Gillespi of Knox and Gloria Smyers of Brookville; and two brothers, Wayne and his wife Donna of New Bethlehem and Dale and his wife Barbara, of Fairmount City.

Internment with military services was in Salem Cemetery.
