Phyllis was born Sept. 28, 1927 in Glenwood, to I. Long and Hallie (Wicker) Long.
She married Francis Keith Beckner Dec. 3, 1945, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 2002. She was a 1945 graduate of New Salem High School. She was a retired school bus driver after having driven over 25 years and was a Rush County Farm Bureau Women's Leader.
Survivors include son, Keith Beckner (and his wife, Shirley) of Rushville; daughters, Polly Jean Sturgeon of Rushville and Mrs. Eric (Beth) Adkins of Rushville; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by brother, Max Long.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Kristine Moffett officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at funeral home.
