Staff Sgt. Daniel D. Merriweather, 25, of Collierville Tenn., died Jan. 13 at Combat Outpost McClain, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their vehicle with an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 118th Military Police Company (Airborne), 503rd Military Police Battalion (Airborne), 16th Military Police Brigade (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C. He was a graduate of Overton High School and member of Miracle Temple Ministries. He leaves his wife, Rachelle Merriweather; two sons, Kale Michael Rausch of Gurnee, IL and Daniel Merriweather of Raleigh, NC; mother, Pamela Finnie; father, Darryl Finnie, both of Collierville, TN; two sisters, Adrienne (Steven) Winton of North Chicago, IL and Aleshia Robinson of Memphis, TN; three brothers, Darryl Finnie, Jr., Allen Robinson and Brandon Robinson; grandmother, Rose Finnie of Memphis, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
