Relatives here received word last week of the death of Mrs. Minnie Coon of Chicago. Mrs. Coon was the former Minnie Varvel, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Varvel.
She spent most of her early life here in Correctionville. She was the wife of Isaac Coon who preceded her in death. Mrs. Coon died Monday at her home in Chicago at the age of 76 years, after a lingering illness.
A native of Monticello, Iowa, Mrs. Coon lived in this community twenty-three years. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include three children: Harry, Mrs. Nellie Uvass and Mrs. Alta Taylor, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Services were held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel at 214 E. 115th Street, Chicago, by Rev. P.L. Stumpe. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Burial: 11 April 1946, Mount Hope Cemetery, Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois
