A native of Noblesville, Mr. Whitesell was born Oct. 28, 1911 to William and Lula May (Yensel) Whitesell. He was a member of the First Friends Church and a member of the Interchurch Council of Noblesville.
A graduate of Noblesville High School, Mr. Whitesell was employed by Hudler Press and Butler Printing Company and came to the Noblesville Daily Ledger following service in World War II. He had been a compositor in the Ledger's commercial printing department since January of 1946.
He also had been a member of the Noblesville Elks Lodge and played the bass horn in the Elks Band. He was a former member of the Noblesville Lions Club.
Surviving with his widow, Louise, are two children, Rebecca Whitesell, Indianapolis and David Whitesell, Noblesville; a brother George Whitesell, Noblesville, and two sisters.
