Arthur A. Schmerbauch, 77, of Troy, IL, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
Mr. Schmerbauch was born in Fayetteville, IL. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Korean War veteran. Art retired from Granite City Steel and was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Julia B., nee Sutton, Schmerbauch; brothers: Charles, Marcus, Joseph, George, and Daniel Schmerbauch; and sister, Pauline Lewis.
Surviving are his brothers: Roy (Bonnie), and Erwin (Connie) of Collinsville, IL, John "Jack" of Ocala, FL, and Robert of St. Jacob, IL; and sisters: Ella Prendiville of Melbourne, FL, Blanch (Harding) Nix of Claremont, NH, Viola (Marvin) Schmieg of Granite City, IL, and Dorothy Schmerbauch of St. Louis, MO.
Burial will be at St. Jerome Cemetery, Troy, IL.
