Clarance Wilfred Anderson was born 4 July 1900, son of August A and Christine Westblade Anderson, and passed away at his home in Lindsborg on 18 August 1970 after a lingering illness. Clarance was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Lutheran Church, living an everyday life that exemplified the teachings of his Saviour. He lived his early years in the Swedesburg community and in 1946 moved to a farm near Maequette. In 1960, due to ill health, he and his wife moved to Lindsborg, where he entered the real estate business. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, served on the Planning and Zoning committee, and also served on several committees connected with farm programs. Clarance was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and one that truly loved his home and family.He was of a friendly and congenial nature, always willing to help others without thought of recognition, a man of strong conviction for the worthwhile things of life along with a ready wit, and a friendly personality. A life that exemplified integrity and honesty in all his dealings with his fellowman. Survivors include his wife Ida, two daughters and and sons-in-law Jacqueline and William White of Little River Kansas; Fern and Kenneth Crowther of Eoxbury Kansas; seven grandsons and four great grandchildren; two brothers, Francis Anderson of Gypsum Kansas and Ralph Anderson of McPherson Kansas; four sisters, Clara Ash of Galva Kansas, Emma Peterson of McPherson Kansas, Mildred Johnson of Lindsborg Kansas and Elsie McQuillen of Shingle Springs California.
