Shirley Louise Hamrick, 70, died Feb. 7, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tacoma. She was born Dec. 9, 1931 in Topeka, KS to Elmer and Frances (Setser) Thompson.

She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1948 and married Clinton Hamrick Nov. 15, 1974, in Tacoma. Hamrick was a waitress with the Poplars Restaurant in Silverdale and a cook with the Victorian Rose Tea Room in Port Orchard. She retired in 1999.

She was active in the First Christian Church of Port Orchard, was a member of the church choir and project that put together 5,000 food baskets for the community.

She is survived by her husband Clinton; son William Everist of Port Orchard; step-son Clinton Hamrick of Bremerton; daughters Linda Hunter of Port Orchard, Kathi Dorow of Tacoma; step-daughters Tuesdee Davies of Allyn, Mondee Montero of Bremerton and Sundee White of Portland, Ore.; her sister Debbie; Aunt Ethel Madara of Port Orchard; 14 grand children and two great-grandchildren.
