Obituary, Israelson--
Nellie L. Israelson, daughter of John and Martha Peterson, was born June 18, 1878, at Wataga, Ill., and passed away at Sunnyside in Hastings, Nebr., Jan. 6, 1964, at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 19 days.

At the age of 2 she moved with her parents and sister, Ida, to the Saronville community. Here she grew to womanhood, attended Saronville public school and the Methodist church where she was a faithful active member.

She was married to Carl B. Nelson Dec. 21, 1898, and moved to a farm near Verona. To this union were born 6 children. One daughter, Mabel Larkin, passed away Jan. 21, 1949. Mr. Nelson passed away August 2, 1918. Nellie as we all loved to call her was active in the community, Ladies Aid society and the church activities. Having a family of her own, she was never too busy to minister unto others. Her Christian character and sweet patient disposition was the personification of Christian love and she has left a shining example which time cannot dim for her children and friends. She made her home on the farm near Verona until May 30, 1942 when she was united in marriage to George Israelson of Portland, Ore. Here they made their home until they moved back to Saronville to make their home until he passed away Oct. 21, 1959. The last years of her life were spent at Sunnyside in Hastings.

She is survived by two daughters--Mrs. Marian Anderson of Saronville, Mrs. Pearl Johnson of Hastings; three sons, Theodore R. Nelson of Clay Center, Bernard Nelson of Lincoln, Lester Nelson of Clay Center; five sisters, Mrs. Lillie Johnson of Harvard, Mrs. Irene Rodelius of Antioch, Ill., Mrs. Wesley Sandberg of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Nettie Swartz of Lincoln, Mrs. Ethel Israelson of Harvard and two brothers, Eddie V. Peterson of Great Falls, Mont., Roy L. Peterson of Denair, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed by her family who will cherish through the year the unspeakable love and christian influence of a devoted mother.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Jan. 9, at the Saronville Methodist church with Rev. Wm. J. Wilcox preaching the memorial sermon. Songs were "Whispering Hope" and "God Will Take Care", with Mrs. Wesley Johnson at the piano, and Mr. and Mrs. Lorraine Aspegren as singers.

Bearers were Kenneth Beattie, Kenneth England, Everett England, Ivan Nelson, Melvin Aspegren and Leland Aspegren.

Burial was in the Verona cemetery, the funeral arrangements by Kohler Mortuary.
