Larry Roscoe Bedford, age 86, a resident of Cynthiana, Kentucky, formerly of Berry, Kentucky, died Wednesday, November 22, 2000, at Grand Haven Nursing Home, in Cynthiana. He was born to the late Henry Clay and Naomi Juett Bedford on January 19, 1914, in Colemansville, Kentucky. Roscoe carried the U.S. mail for 37 years and was a member of Benson United Methodist Church, in Harrison County, where he was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years. He was converted to a Christian life in 1942 and originated the Harrison County Hymn Sing on WCYN Radio in 1958.

He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Kathryn Louise Hill Bedford, in 1981; and his second wife, Anna Elizabeth Fritz Keller Bedford, in 1999. Survivors include: three daughters, Audrey Nell (Virgil) Dryden and Judy Dianna (Ronnie) Sims, both of Cynthiana, and Carolyn Louise Baker, of Paris; nine granddaughters, Terri Wiggins, Monica Mattox, Valerie Mason, Darla Muntz, Sharon Williams, Krystal Baker, Patricia Ann Purcell, Tonya Renee Fuller and Michelle Barton; 16 great-grandchildren, John Webber, Derek Webber, Jason Wiggins, Karey Mattox, Adam Ryan Mattox, Timothy Prewitt, Courtney Lynn Purcell, Stephen Fuller, Charles Fuller, Kayla Mason, Justin Aaron Purcell, Tyler Williams, Devon Barton, Jayla Barton, Kimberly Fuller and Christopher Muntz; and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Kenny Williams, Virgil Dryden, Ronnie Sims, Lovell Cloe, Charles Hill and William Hill. Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Noakes, Rick Mattox, Jon-Michael Webber, Tom Spicer, Steve Muntz, Robert Lenox, Ronnie Fuller, H. N. Thompson, Neville Haley and Jodie Pulliam. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass, in Cynthiana. Burial was in Pythian Grove Cemetery in Berry.
