Warren R. Olson, age 86, of Eau Claire died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at Dove Healthcare Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Warren was born Sept. 7, 1923, to W.R. "Bill" and Anna (Rand) Olson in Chippewa Falls. In 1941, he graduated from Chippewa Falls High School. Warren proudly served in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during World War II. On Feb. 15, 1947, he married Lorraine Lange in Jamestown, N.D. Warren owned and operated Antlers Motel in Eau Claire for over 40 years. He was an active charter member of Chapel Heights United Methodist Church, and served on numerous boards and committees. He also was a member of the Eau Claire Noon Lions Club and the Wisconsin Motel Association. Warren loved golf, the annual fishing trip to Canada, playing cards every Tuesday and spending time with his very special granddaughters. Warren will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Randy (Sally) Olson of Stevens Point, Diane (Roger) Wojt of Eau Claire and Dave (Deann) Olson of Menomonie; granddaughters, Ashley and Lindsey Olson; companion, Verna Shea of Eau Claire; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine; sister, Elaine; and brothers, Ray and George.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at Chapel Heights United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jim McKay officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
