John T. Davies, 72, of 500 Vine St. died Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Mr. Davies was a life resident of Syracuse. He retired in 1971 as a foreman with New Process Gear Division of Chrysler Corp. Mr. Davies also was employed 12 years with the American Bowling Congress. Mr. Davies was a member of Nortrip Masonic Lodge 998, and a past master of Uncas Lodge 949. He was a member and royal patron of Fayetteville Chapter 114, Order of the Amaranth, and a member of the New Process Gear Management Club. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Surviving is his wife, the former Bertha Dean; a daughter, Beverly Dunham of Clay; two brothers, George A. of North Syracuse and Robert E. of Goldsboro, N.C.; a sister, Dorothy Dixon of Dunedin, Fla.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson
Funeral Home, the Rev. Donald Brevet officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 7 to 9 p.m. today (May 23) and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Masonic services will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
