Monroe City - Belle Day, 90, Monroe City, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday at her home.

She was the oldest member of the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church.

She was born March 7, 1901, in Harrison Township, to Abrum and Sarah (Burke) Williams.

Surviving are her husband, Arch Day, whom she married March 25, 1922; two sons, Sheldon Day and Dudley Day of Monroe City; three daughters, Meredith Myers, Phyllis Lanning of Monroe City, and Joy Burnett of Houston; two brothers, Dale Williams and Nile Williams of Monroe City; two sisters; Garnett Cornelison and Agnes Berry of Monroe City; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. A daughter, a brother and two sisters are deceased.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the Harris Funeral Home in Monroe City and one hour prior to service on Thursday at the church.
