Civil War Union Army Soldier. Served as a Private in Company A, 7th Pennsylvania (1862) Militia from September 11 to September 26, 1862.

He then served as a Private in Company A, 32nd Pennsylvania Emergency Troops, being mustered in on June 26, 1863, and being mustered out on August 1, 1863.
