KILLEEN — Nadine Young, 95, of Copperas Cove died Monday, Jan. 18, at a Copperas Cove nursing center.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen with the Rev. Joe Rich officiating.

Burial will be in Killeen City Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 2, 1914, to DeWitt and Mary Adams Herbert in Matagorda. Her family moved to Killeen, where she grew up and went to school. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She worked for Mid-Texas Telephone Co., which later became CenTel of Texas, starting in 1954 and retiring in 1979. She was a member of the Communications Workers of America. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Young, and two sons, Wayne Young and Billy Young.

Survivors include four daughters, Patricia Hamilton of Florence, Norma Scott of Kempner, Carolyn Young of Moody and Wanda Shaw of Bloomdale, Ohio; a brother, Maloy Herbert of Belton; two sisters, Rae Votaw of Kempner and Tommie Ramm of Florence; 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
