Sever Peterson Overboe died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. H. Johnson, in Naples, Tuesday, Sept. 29th, after an illness of several weeks the cause of death being infirmities of old age. He was born in Solvaren, Norway, November 14th; 1822. There he as married to Anna Kilden and in 1870 the family came to this country, stopping at Red Wing, Minn., one summer, after which they settled on the farm in Naples which was home until two years ago when he bought a home in this city. To them eight children were born, five of whom survive their aged father. They are: Mrs. A. H. Johnson of Naples, Mrs. A. M. Johnson of Canton, Peter of this city, Mrs. Martin Bergh of Drammen and Mrs. John Seymour of St. Paul, Minn. A brother in Norway also survives him. His wife preceded him in death four years ago. Funeral services were conducted in the Armour Valley church Monday by Rev. Norsen of Merridean and interment was made in the cemetery near there. Although over four score years and ten, this aged pilgrim was gifted with a wonderful vitality, was able to do his work about the home premises. With in a few weeks preceding his death he was able to write a legible hand and read without even the use of glasses. Throughout all these years he was a good father, husband and neighbor of a kind disposition, ever ready to share his savings with those in need. May he rest in pease.
