He was awarded the Navy Good Conduct medal with one Silver star (five reenlistments), the China Service medal, the American Defense Service medal with "Asia" bar, the American Campaign medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign medal with two bronze service stars, the World War II Victory medal, and the National Defense Service medal.
