Irene May (Anderson) Gothman was born July 23, 1913 at Owatonna, Minnesota to Christian and May (Christianson) Anderson. Irene was united in marriage with Raymond Gothman on December 28, 1941 in Staples, Minnesota. They lived on a farm 7 and 1/2 miles west of Eagle Bend, Minnesota until 1962 when they sold the farm and moved to a smaller place for retirement. Raymond passed away on December 28, 1983 and Irene continued to live in their home until she entered the Long Prairie Memorial Home in Long Prairie, Minnesota on August of 1998. She passed away at the Long Prairie Memorial Hospital in Long Prairie on the morning of Thursday, July 24, 2003 at the age of 90 years. Irene was preceded in death by her parents Christian and May Anderson; husband Raymond Gothman on December 28, 1983; brothers Albert Anderson, Floyd Anderson, Irvin Anderson and Lelan Anderson; and sisters Evelyn Hert and Elaine Brynjulfson.
