Mrs.Laura A. Moeller wife of George E.Moeller, 800 W.William street die Thursday morning at 5 oclock as a result of acute Brights disease developing from septic poisoning spreading from the nostril after an operation for removal of polypus early in December. The operation was a simple work of surgery and is never considered serious. Mrs. Moeller developed a severe cold on a trip to Chicago a few days after the operation and irritation of the throat caused her to consult a physician at which time it was discovered that septic poisoning had developed and spread through the stomach into the kidneys bringing on the attack of Brights disease. For the last week Mrs. Moellers condition has been serious but never has it been considered critical. Wednesday her condition showed a change, it was believed in improvement and hope was expressed for a speedy recovery. Thursday morning an abrupt change occurred and before relief could be given she died.
Mrs.Moelle was born April 1,1866 in Jacksonville, the daughter of Mr.and Mrs. Marshall P.Ayers,the youngest of eight children. She was married to George E. Moeller in Jacksonville, April 23, 1891 and came at once to Decatur where they have since made their home. Mr.Ayers,her father who died in 1902 for fifty years was in the banking business in Jacksonville.
Mrs.Moeller designed andplanned the new home where she died and which was completed about two years ago. The interior furnishings and redecorating was carried out under her personal direction and are evidence of her taste and excellent judgement. She was a member of First Presbyterian church and was active in church work.
She leaves her husband,George E.Moeller, secretary-treasurer of the Decatur Coffin company, three children, Miss Helen A. Moeller,George A.Moeller and Sidney D.Moeller, two sister, Mrs.E.Kaime of Plymouth,Mass. and Mrs. Helen A.Bullard,Jacksonville,three brothers, Dr. Edward Ayers of Branchville, N. J. John A.Ayers and Walter Ayers of Jacksonville.
Funeral services will be conducted in the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30,the Rev.W.H.Penhallegon officiating. Burial will be in greenwood cemetery.
