August never married. His sisters Annie and Laura lived with him at the family farm for many years after their parents death. Annie was never married and Laura was married late in life and for a short time before her death. August spent his last years in the IOOF home in Liberty, Missouri.

Half brother to Johanna, Frederica, Ernst Jr., Louis, Bertha, Edward, Elizabeth.

August Wolf, capable and enterprising farmer of Madison township, was born on the farm where he is now residing, August 28, 1879, a son of Ernest and Anna (Lang) Wolf both of whom were born in Germany.
August Wolf was reared to maturity on the home place near Holden and is farming 181 acres of fine land and operating a dairy in connection. In addition to general farming and
dairying, he raises a considerable number of hogs each year. Mr. Wolf is following in his father's footsteps as a tiller of the soil and is making a decided success of his life work. He is a member and a deacon of the Baptist church and is fraternally affiliated with the Woodmen of the World, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the Daughters of
Rebekah.

August Wolf Dies--Lifetime Resident.
August Wolf lifetime resident of the Holden community, died Sunday, December 14 at the Odd Fellows Home in Liberty. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. Burl Gray, officiating. A quartet, Dr. H.L.Mahnken, Leonard Corkran, Rayburn Henry and W.R. Howard sang, "When The Morning Comes" and "Going Down the Valley." Mrs. Mahnken was accompanist. Pallbearers were Reno Coskey, Will Cotter, Lewis Markar, Tom Mooney, Monte Allen and C. H. Carter. Burial was in the Holden Cemetery.
August Frederick Wolf was born August 28, 1879 in Holden, the son of Ernst F and Anna Long Wolf, one of a family of ten children. He farmed near Holden until his retirement about fifteen years ago. Mr. Wolf never married. He was a member of the Holden Baptist Church sixty-one years and served as a deacon. He had been a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge for forty-five years and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge. Mr. Wolf had been at the Odd Fellows Home about a year. Survivors are a sister, Miss Annie Wolf of the home in Holden; a half sister, Mrs. Bertha Coy, Independence, several nieces and nephews.
