Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 at Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Anthony with Pastor Matt Wilkerson and Pastor Lynn Sparkman officiating.
Burial will be in Spring Grove Cemetery, Anthony.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Prairie Rose in Anthony.

Memorials in memory of Juanita may be given to the First Baptist Church of Medicine Lodge and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Juanita Lorraine Amerine – Burnet was born January 3, 1920 at Elkhart, Kansas on the family farm to Thomas and Sylvia (Powell) Landreth. She attended grade school a half a mile away from home at a country school called Sandy Hook. The family later moved to Haviland, Kansas where she graduated from high school in 1939.

On September 16, 1939 she was united in marriage with Elton Amerine. They first made their home in Haviland, then moved on to Elkhart and South Dakota before coming to Anthony. This union was blessed with four children, Robert, Gerald, Janet and Dolores. Elton passed away on August 21, 1990.

Juanita married Jim Burnet in 1993 in Anthony. Jim passed away on July 18, 1995.

On January 20, 2010, Juanita passed away at the Anthony Community Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one brother and four sisters.

Survivors include sons: Robert Amerine and his wife Marge of Hatton, North Dakota; Gerald Amerine and his wife Estella of Speculator, New York; daughters: Janet Hansen and her husband Paul of Spearfish, South Dakota and Dolores Seifert and her husband James of Harper, Kansas; ten grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; and a host of many other relatives and friends.
