SEBRING, Fla -- Fenton A. Moberg, 82, of Sebring, Fla., formerly of Wilson, died Thursday (Nov. 13. 1997) in his home after a short illness.
He was born in Jamestown on April 8 1915, son of the late James and Laura Carlson Moberg.
He and his brothers were the owners of a furniture factory in Ellicottville, residing there until moving to Wilson in 1958.
He was employed in the aerospace business for many years, working first at Curtis Wright and then as a budget analyst for Bell Aerospace/Textron, retiring in 1977 after 25 years of service.
He was a member of the Wilson Fire Co. 1 and was a fire police chief for many years. He was an avid fisherman during his retirement years in Florida.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Marie Straughen Moberg; three sons: Ronald and Richard Moberg, both of Wilson, and John Moberg of Sebring, Fla.; five daughters: Jeanine Mack and Lynn Evans both of Florida, Sandra Scozzafava and Karen Moberg, both of Lockport, and Kathryn Wagner of Wilson; 22 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, R. Douglas Moberg; one sister, Virginia Johnson and two brothers: Jerome and Elliott Moberg.
Friends will be received from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Hamilton & Clark Inc. Funeral Home, 270 Young St., Wilson, where the funeral service will be at 8:30 p.m. Monday.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery Ellicottville, at the convenience of the family.
