Mrs. Lula Ferris Linton, age 78, of 2751 Glengary Ave. N.W., died Monday in Roanoke. She was the widow of James Frank Linton.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ethel Keaton and Mrs. Ella Mae Shropshire; four sons: Marshall H. (Sarge) Linton, Frank Alvin Linton, Paul E. Linton, Walter Garland(Shorty) Linton; ten grand-children: Marshall H. Linton, Jr.; Frank Alvin Linton, Jr.; William Shropshire; Douglas Shropshire; Donna S. Stanley; Barbara L. Maxey; Shirley L. Fisher; Linda L. Fisher; Laura Linton; Lisa L. Linton; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lennis G. Lawson, all of Roanoke.
Services will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, conducted by Rev. Tommy B. Toms.
Interment will be in Sherwood. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke.

Notes: Mrs. Lula Ferris Linton was an adopted daughter of John Ferris. Her biological parents were William and Massie (Pickering) Bishop of Botetourt County.
In reviewing 1900 and 1910 census data she was more likely born in 1894.
