7/7/1920 MORGAN FUNERAL SET FOR FRIDAY (Wednesday)
Capitol Flag to Float at Half Mast Till Burial
The funeral of Representative Dick T. Morgan, who died Sunday night at Danville, Ill., will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the First Christian church, according to word received here yesterday from the representative's son, Porter H. Morgan. Rev. E.D. Salkeld, pastor of the church, and Rev. E.T. Lane will conduct the service. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. The body of Representative Morgan is expected to be brought here on the Frisco railroad, arriving at noon tomorrow.
The flat at the state capitol will fly at half mast beginning this morning until Friday afternoon as a mark of the state's respect to Representative Morgan, George F. Clark, chairman of the state board of public affairs, announced last night. (THE OKLAHOMAN)

City--In a casket inscribed "Dick Thompson Morgan" in front of an altar banked with huge sheaves of flowers, roses, gladioli and dahlias lay the body of one of Oklahoma's most prominent "89ers" as hundreds of his fellow statesmen gathered at the First Christian church to pay honor to the memory of Congressman Dick T. Morgan, who served six times as congressman and died in the office July 4 at Danville, Ill. Rev. E. T. Lane read a biographical sketch of Congressman Morgan's life. Dr. I. N. Cash, president of Phillips University, Enid, preached the funeral sermon. Rev. Edgar D. Salkeld, pastor of the First Christian church, read the fifteenth chapter of the first book of Corinthians, dealing with the resurrection.
