ASHLEY NANCE.....Ashley Nance, son of Ashley Nance and Eldora Jane Nance, was born at Mountain View, Howell County, Missouri, December 8, 1881. Departed this life at Mountain Grove, Missouri on August 20, 1955 at the age of 73 years, 8 months, and 12 days. He was married to Lola McCallister October 8, 1905. To this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Verna Johnson, Mt. View, Missouri., and Mrs. Pauline Scott, Mt. Grove, Missouri. who survive. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs Dora Renfrow, Perry, Iowa, and two brothers, Noah Nance, Adel, Iowa, and J. W. Nance, Perry, Iowa, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Ashley Nance, known to his friends as Box Nance, lived most of his life in the Summersville community. The last ten months were spent at Mountain Grove where he made many new friends and acquaintances.
