COLLIER, A. C. "CHUCK" Born October 29, 1927 in Bessemer, AL to Felton and Grace Moreland Collier, educated in the Bessemer public schools. Graduated from Birmingham Southern College and from the University of Alabama served in the U.S. Army in Korea and later in the United States Army Reserve. He was honorably retired as a Major in the Army Reserve. He was employed by the Jefferson County Board of Education, the University Hospital and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Hospital Authority- was a member of the American Hospital Association, the Alabama Hospital Association, the North Carolina Hospital Association served on the boards of the North Central Alabama Rehab Center and the Alabama Easter Seal Society.

Survivors include two daughters, Theo Collier Thomas and her husband Ioan Talfryn Thomas and Carolyn Grace Collier; four grandchildren, Anwen and Rodney Eslinger, Catrin Thomas, Sian Thomas and Wiliam Thomas; and his brother, William Bird Collier with his wife Carol Collier.

The family suggests memorials to Camp ASCCA-Easter Seals, PO Box 21, Jacksons Gap, AL 36861 or at campascca.com Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 28th at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28th with graveside service Monday, November 30, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
