Mrs. Helen Gates, 66 of 1718 E. St., Two Rivers, widow of John A. Gates, longtime Two Rivers east side grocer died early Sunday night at Manitowoc Memorial Hospital after an illness of more than 6 months.
Funeal services will be at St. John Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth.
Mrs. Gates nee Helen Cerull was born March 5, 1896 at Manitowoc, daughter of the late August & Augusta Wagner Cerull.
She was married in 1916 to John Gates at Waukegan, Illinois and resided since at Two Rivers. Her husband preceded her in death two years ago.
Surviving are a son, John E. Gates of Two Rivers, a brother Emil Cerull of Manitowoc, 2 sisters, Mrs. John Hermann & Mrs. Ella Owel of Manitowoc & 4 grandchildren.
