Mrs. Mary Gates, 73 formerly of 1908 Garfield St., Two Rivers, a patient at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital Extended Care Unit for the past 3 years, died unexpectedly Thursday morning at the hospital.
Funeral services will be Saturday at Deja & Martin Funeral chapels and at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Gates, nee Mary Walsh was born Jan. 12, 1895 at Tisch Mills, a daughter of the late Wenzel & Johanna Nuhlicek Walsh. She was married in 1915 to Van Gates of Two Rivers. He preceded her in death in 1962.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph P. Schroeder of Manitowoc & Mrs. Alfred Behrendt of Two Rivers, a son Alfred J. Gates of Two Rivers, a brother, James of Tish Mills, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
