In Memory
Mr. Charles Pullen senior of Little River died at his home about three o'clock Wednesday morning the 20th inst. He had been in poor health about a year, but kept up and about and did not take to his bed till the morning of the day previous to his death. Mr. Pullen was born November 1814, in South China, Kennebec county Maine. He emigrated to California in 1864, and arrived at Little River on the Fourth of July where he has since resided. He leaves a widow and ten children, seven sons and three daughters; all the sons and one daughter by a previous marriage. He had the privilege of having all his children near him with the exception of one daughter who remains in the east. Mr. Pullen was highly esteemed by his large circle of friends and acquaintances, and his family have the sincere sympathy of the community in their affliction. The funeral was numerously attended on Thursday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. J. S. Ross of Caspar.
