Edna V. Adams of Ashford, died Saturday, January 23, 2010, at the Chipola Nursing Pavilion in Marianna, FL. She was 97. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at the Enterprise Baptist Church with Rev. David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Howard Grove Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, January 25, 2010. Flowers will be accepted. Mrs. Adams was born October 13, 1912, in Houston County, Alabama, the daughter of the late Samuel Maddox and Fannie Howell Maddox. She was the oldest member of Enterprise Baptist Church. She loved to sew and work in her yard. She loved her family and played a big part in raising her grandchildren, and great-grand-children. She loved to be at home and had a saying that she "never wanted to get off the place." She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Choice Adams, and her son, Bobby Earl Adams. Survivors include: her daughter, Betty Simms and her husband, Ralph of Ashford; sons, Charles Adams and his wife, Annie of Ashford; Rufus Adams and his wife, Pat of Ashford; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Ward Wilson Memory Hill Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematory, (334) 792-4194, is in charge of arrangements.
