Josephine M. Abbott, daughter of James and Mary Abbott, was born
April 17,1872, in Brimfield township,
Peoria county. Illinois, and died at
her home near Elmwood, Illinois,
Saturday morning, May 14,1932; following
an illness of only a few days
duration.

She was united in marriage April
15, 1897. to John A. Ross of Monica,
Illinois,, and to this union three children
were born, Mrs. Pearl Callery of
Princcville, and Mary and Charles at
home, who with the husband survive
her. She Is also survived by five
grandchildren; three sisters and two
brothers, James, John and Ella
Abbott of Monica. Illinois, and Mary
Abbott and Mrs. Anna Deutscher of
Peoria, besides numerous other relatives
and a host of friends who deeply
morns her passing.

Most of her married life was spent
on a farm in the vicinity of Princeville
until the year 1930. when the
family moved to the present home near
Elmwood where she passed quietly.
away to her eternal rest. She was
kind wife and mother, and a sincere
friend, and was loved- by all who
knew her. She was a home loving
woman, who devoted her efforts to
making her borne a happy one. She
will be sadly missed in the home,
where she was deeply loved and revered.

Funeral services were held at St.
Patrick's church in Elmwood on Mon
day morning. May 16 with Rev. Fr.
Montague of Galesburg officiating.
Pall bearers were John Maher, Clay
Craig, James Strapp. John Eslinger
Barney Daley and Richard Kennelly.
all of Elmwood. Interment was in
Calvary cemetery.
