Donna R. Smith, 83, of Tremont, Ill., passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Ill.
She was born Dec. 21, 1926, in Peoria, Ill., to Donald and Beatrice Jupin Pierce. She married Merle L. Smith on April 6, 1947, in Mason City, Ill., and he preceded her in death on May 18, 1988.
Surviving are one sister, Marilyn Beard of Greenview, Ill.; and one sister-in-law, Barbara Smith of Springfield, Ill.
Donna graduated from Mason City High School and attended Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ill., where she majored in music.
She was an active member of Tremont Baptist Church, where she had served as organist and as a member of the Bell Choir for many years.
She was also a member of Tazewell County Home Extension and the Red Hat Ladies Society.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Tremont.
