Jules Grandpierre

Funeral services for Mr. Jules A. Grandpierre will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Ball, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Grandpierre, age 70, of Ball, entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

He was a lifelong resident of the Pineville/Ball area and a member of Palestine United Methodist Church. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 32 years of service. After retiring, he owned and operated G.P. Tractor. He was a past board member of Water Works, District 3, Postal Credit Union and Ward Ten Recreation. He was the State Representative for the Dixie Softball National Board for many years and president of Dixie Girls Ward Ten Softball. His great passion was the outdoors and hunting. Above all else, he loved his girls and his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jules Claude and Clothilde Grandpierre.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley Franklin Grandpierre of Ball, two daughters, Cindy Gaspard and husband, Randy of Ball, Chris Cooley and husband, Thomas of Ball; one sister, Pat Jeter of Natchitoches; two grandchildren, Keevin Guin of Chopin, Louisiana and Chase Gaspard of Ball; two great-grandchildren Cameron Guin and Nayleigh Gaspard.

Pallbearers will include Roger Corley, John Parker, Carl Willis, Jim Scarbourgh, Leland Scoggins, Doug Byrd.

Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
