Jewel Cauble Anderson, 91, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2010, after a brief illness in the Dallas area, where she had been living with her daughter and family.

She was born on August 20, 1918, in Big Spring, Texas, to George Clinton Cauble and Lucille Griffice Cauble.

After graduating from Big Spring High School, she married her true love, Donald Arthur Anderson, on March 9, 1938, and they lived happily for 61 wonderful years in Big Spring. They worked together at Thomas Office Supply and raised two children.

Jewel was a member of the First Christian Church, belonged to the Couples' Dance Club, and played in the Tuesday Bridge Club for over 50 years. She loved to play Bingo, play cards with her family, and go "gambling" wherever and whenever she could,especially Las Vegas. Many will remember her as Sissue or Mimi and know that she was devoted to her family, who loved her dearly and will miss her always.

Jewel was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother, J.D. Cauble.

She is survived by her son, Donald Gene Anderson and wife, Victoria of Katy, Texas; granddaughter, Stephanie Derfus and husband, Johnny of Tyler, Texas, and great-grandchildren, Daniel, Luke and Leah; granddaughter, Kristin Martin and husband, Jeff of Katy, Texas, and great-grandchildren, Collin and Sydney. She is also survived by her daughter, Jan Anderson Grant of Lavon, Texas; granddaughter, Wendi Courtney and husband, Andrew of Sydney, Australia, and great-grandsons, Stephen and Matthew; grandson, Scott Grant and wife, Traci of Andover, Kansas, and great-granddaughters, Kaylee and Hannah; and granddaughter, Sarah Henry and husband, Jeremy of Wylie, Texas, and great-grandson, Joshua.

Visitation will be held at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home on Thursday, January 28, 2010, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.

The funeral is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Friday, January 29, 2010, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with graveside services to follow at Mount Olive Memorial Park.
