Clarence H. "Jupe" Seldomridge, Jr. of 5301 N. 26th St. Arlington, Virginia formerly of Hinton, West Virginia died Saturday January 16, 2010 at age 78 in the VA Medical Center in Arlington, Virginia.
Born December 5, 1931 in Hinton, West Virginia, Jupe was the son of the late Clarence H. Sr. & Pansy (Smith) Seldomridge. Mr. Seldomridge was a 1949 graduate of Hinton High School. Following high school, he entered the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. Following military service, he graduated from West Virginia University in 1956 and received Masters in Education from West Virginia in 1957.
Jupe was a retired school teacher in Arlington County, Virginia and a member of both the American Association of Teachers and the Virginia Association of Teachers. He was also a member of the VFW and the American Legion and the Hinton United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Reva (Patrick) Seldomridge; one son - David Seldomridge & fiancee Kris McGraw of Arlington, Virginia; two daughters - Susan Seldomridge of Arlington, Virginia and Sandy Casey & husband Todd of Vienna, Virginia; three grandchildren - Reagan, Otis & Patrick. Nephews, Fred Seld and David Harris. Niece, Becky Sheets.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday January 21, 2010 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton, West Virginia with Pastor Larry Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery at Forest Hill. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
