Jane I. Shumaker died May 12, 2001, at age 84.
Mrs. Shumaker was born Jane I. Huntoon on Dec. 31, 1916, in Ancon, Panama Canal Zone. She graduated from Goddard Junior College in Vermont and lived in the Panama Canal Zone until 1942, when she moved to Portland. She was a homemaker who moved to Forest Grove in 1975. In 1940, she married Clyde M. Shumaker; he died in 1970.
Survivors include her son, Robert R.; brother, Hiram Huntoon; sisters, Ethel Straub and Aura Erickson; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Her son Clyde M. Jr. died in 1984.
