Henry H. McCormick, 79, a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of Benton County, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 1, at his home, He was born the son of Robert J. and Margaret Hutchison McCormick on Aug. 19, 1887 near Shellsburg. On April 9, 1939, he was married to Bertha Olive Booze at Robins.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Fannie) Ernst of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Weldon (Margarete) Gallup of Davenport; a son, Bobbie D. McCormick of Marion; a step-daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Carlotte) Kadera of Iowa City; two step-sons Merlyn Meyers of Cedar Rapids and Bruce Meyers with the U. S. Navy in Vietnam; a brother, David McCormick of Shellsburg and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons, three brothers and three sisters.

Services were held at 10:30 Monday, June 5 at the Urbana Christian Church, conduced by Rev. Richard A. Laslo.
