Funeral services for Arstena Thornton Mannings Blackmon of Houston will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Northside Church of God in Christ with Elder Joe Mason officiating. Interment will follow in H.V. Adams Cemetery under the direction of Loche's Mortuary Inc. Viewing services will be held from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday.
Ms. Blackmon was preceded in death by her parents, Mose and Arstena Manning; husband, Marshall Blackmon; and sons, James Blackmon and Robert Blackmon.
She is survived by sons Donald Mannings of Wilmot, Ark., Johnny Blackmon of Sherwood, Ark. and Lester Blackmon of Houston; daughters Geraldine Brazzle or Houston and JoAnn Waterman of Sherwood, Ark; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ms. Blackmon's grandsons.
