Herman was born April 19, 1926, was a Navy veteran, retired from the Bell Lines and was a lifelong community pastor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nobel Gordon and Bessie Boggess; foster son, Edward Spencer; and grandson, James "Kevin" Boggess.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Naomi "Betty" Helen Boggess; sons, David L. Boggess and his wife, Mary, and Rickey J. Boggess and his wife, Debbie, all of Sissonville, Thomas B. Boggess of Tornado, and Charles G. Boggess and his wife, Greta, of Leon; daughters, Elizabeth A. Boggess and her husband, Larry, of Sissonville and Linda K. Drake and her husband, Joe, of Gandeeville; foster daughter, Emma Young of Florida; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Herman's family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ashhab, MICU and 3-South employees. A very special thanks goes to hospice. We feel blessed to have had all of you.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 29, at Long & Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with Pastor Doyle Young officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville.
