A native of Huntington County, he had been associated with the Peoples Natural Gas Company since early in life and at the time of his death was general superintendent of production for the Peoples company with headquarters in Pittsburgh. He was located in Wayesburg for several years and was field superintendent here when he was transferred to a larger field. Mr. Chilcote was a member of the Methodist Church and was affiliated with the Burgettstown Lodge, F.&A.M.
While located in Waynesburg he married Miss Edna Huffman, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George D. Huffman, who survives with four children, Mary Jean, Ruth Anna, Josephine and George Andrew, all at home. One brother, Howard Chilcote, of Pittsburgh, also survives.
